Okay, this is a 50mm f/1.8 lens that costs nearly $600. Usually, you could buy three “nifty fifty’s” for that much, or more. You can probably still find AF or AF-D 50mm f/1.8’s on sale used for about $100, actually, that work just fine on a D750 or D850.

The build quality of the Canon RF 50mm f/1.2 USM L is exceptional. The body is made of a combination of metal and high-quality plastic parts based on a metal mount. It features a weather-resistant design that protects against dust and moisture. There is, however, an inner lens tube that moves during focusing. The focus ring operates smoothly.

According to the graphs, the RF 50mm f/1.8 is sharper at the centre then the f/1.2 L lens at f/4, and both of them as well as the RF 24-105mm f/4 L are equally sharp at f/5.6! The TDP test contradicts this, using the R5, the RF 50mm f/1.8 appears less sharp at the centre then the f/1.2 L lens at f/4 and f5.6
The Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM is built very differently compared to previous generation Sigma lenses – it has a very nice all-metal barrel instead of a plastic barrel like on the older Sigma 50mm f/1.4. The lens feels very solid in hands and it has a far better feel to it than the Nikon 50mm f/1.4G, which feels and handles plasticky in comparison.

The original YN 50mm F1.8 was one of the first lenses the budget brand ever released, undercutting Canon's already ultra-affordable EF 50mm F1.8 II. Version II continues this trend, with a price tag of just $75, while the original will cost you just $51. Optically, the lens seems to be unchanged—you still get 6 lens elements in 5 groups which
In this review I’ll directly compare the RF 85mm f2 against the high-end RF 85mm f1.2 as well as the much older EF 85mm f1.8 for portraits, close-ups, landscapes, bokeh, focusing and video.
